Are You Afraid of the Woman? - Siren & Venus

This project is about the empowerment of women, visualized via ancient mythological creatures who symbolize attraction in its purest form. See my process post for a more detailed description of the concept. For the art approach I focussed on designing the perfect Siren. She had to express attraction and danger at the same time. The Venus, the human version of the Siren, is made out of the same model. She had to express the ideal or dream woman. ‘Are you afraid of the woman’ is also a self portrait, so the Siren is made out of a 3D scan of myself.
